An Albanian Night for Freedom and Hope

An evening where music, culture and solidarity came together for something far greater than entertainment. Through ticket purchases, bank transfers and direct contributions on the night, approximately €5,000 was raised to support the reintegration of survivors of human trafficking currently supported by Albanian shelters. What made the night meaningful was not only the atmosphere, but the message behind it: dignity, recovery, and the collective responsibility to stand beside those rebuilding their lives after exploitation. A sincere thank you to the members of the URAT Network and to Albanian Night for making this possible — turning a celebration into concrete support for a cause that calls for long-term commitment, not momentary attention. The event was organised within the Sustainable Shelters programme, implemented by Medaille Trust and funded through the Modern Slavery Fund via the British Embassy Tirana.

UN Gift Box 2018

Vlorë

On the International Day Against Trafficking in Persons, 30 July 2018, URAT launched a three-day summer awareness campaign in Vlorë to inform the public about the realities of human trafficking in Albania. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined the initiative. The campaign is part of the wider UN.Gift Box Anti-Trafficking Campaign, a travelling, interactive exhibition URAT has brought to cities across Albania — including Tirana, Durrës and Saranda — and, later that year, across the border to Prizren, Kosovo. Through hands-on information stands, it helps the public recognise the warning signs of trafficking and know where to turn for help, timed each summer to reach both residents and the seasonal visitors who fill Albania's coastal towns like Vlorë.

World Day against Trafficking in Persons

Shëngjin, Lezhë

30 July marks the International Day Against Trafficking in Persons. To mark it, URAT Network organised "Art for Freedom," held on 29–30 July in Shëngjin, Lezhë, from 18:00 to 21:00. Art for Freedom was an awareness campaign through visual art and music, making the audience the main protagonist of the artistic work. The UN Gift Box was installed on site, with the space dedicated to the theme of anti-trafficking, allowing every citizen to express their thoughts and feelings on the subject through the peaceful form of art. URAT Network (United Response Against Trafficking) is a national network of organisations and congregations working to protect human rights, determined to fight trafficking and the exploitation of human beings — including the trafficking and exploitation of children. It was a call to speak up in defence of those who have been harmed, and to combine efforts to stop trafficking and abuse.
