UN Gift Box in Kosovo

Prizren, Kosovo

A cross-border collaboration between Albania and Kosovo to raise awareness and prevent human trafficking through the UN Gift Box campaign. URAT Network, in partnership with Terre des Hommes, launched the campaign in Prizren, Kosovo, on 19 October. The Deputy Ministers of Interior of both Kosovo and Albania, together with the Mayor of Prizren, delivered supportive remarks during the official opening. Organisations working with URAT on this event included IBVM Loreto, Mary Ward Loreto, Different & Equal, Vatra, SHKEJ, ARSIS, and Caritas Albania.

UN Gift Box 2018

Vlorë

On the International Day Against Trafficking in Persons, 30 July 2018, URAT launched a three-day summer awareness campaign in Vlorë to inform the public about the realities of human trafficking in Albania. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined the initiative. The campaign is part of the wider UN.Gift Box Anti-Trafficking Campaign, a travelling, interactive exhibition URAT has brought to cities across Albania — including Tirana, Durrës and Saranda — and, later that year, across the border to Prizren, Kosovo. Through hands-on information stands, it helps the public recognise the warning signs of trafficking and know where to turn for help, timed each summer to reach both residents and the seasonal visitors who fill Albania's coastal towns like Vlorë.

UN.Gift Box Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign in Tirana

The UN.Gift Box returned to Tirana from 30 May to 1 June, 09:00–12:00, in cooperation with URAT Network and the Ministry of Interior. The purpose of this youth-focused activity was to raise awareness among the Albanian population about the dangers of human trafficking, help vulnerable communities protect themselves from traffickers, and build a better understanding of how survivors of trafficking are supported to reintegrate into society. Together, raising our voices, we are strong enough to help prevent this crime against humanity.

UN Gift Box in Tirana

Prime Minister's Office, Tirana

The UN Gift Box in Tirana ran from 3 to 8 October 2016, in cooperation with URAT Network, the Ministry of Interior and the National Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking. The campaign served as the launching platform for the Month of Action Against Trafficking during October 2016. The opening took place on 3 October with a march starting from in front of the Prime Minister's office at 10:00, moving towards the UN Gift Box on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, in front of Rinia Park, in the Taiwan Gardens, for the official opening of the campaign at 11:00. The purpose of the activity was to raise awareness among the Albanian population about the dangers of human trafficking, help vulnerable communities protect themselves from traffickers, and build a better understanding of how survivors of trafficking are supported to reintegrate into society.

URAT Network cordially invited the public to the UN Gift Box campaign against human trafficking in Saranda, held from 3 to 10 September 2016 at the square before the Museum. The official launching day was on 3 September at 10:00 am, at the square before the Museum, Sarandë. Come and join in our mission — all together we are stronger as we raise our voices to prevent trafficking in human beings.

Official Launch of the UN.Gift Box Campaign in Albania

Durrës Municipality

The official launching day of the UN.Gift Box Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign in Albania took place on 30 July at 10:00 am, in front of the Municipality of Durrës. Elona Gjebrea, Deputy Minister of the Interior, officially opened the campaign. At the time, URAT Network brought together several NGOs — Peace Corps, Different and Equal, SHKEJ, IRCA and Mary Ward Loreto — and religious congregations — Good Shepherd, Company of Mary, Little Sisters of Jesus and IBVM (Loreto). The network has organised the UN Gift Box campaign in Albania in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior.
